1. New Features

1.1. Business Data Diagram

The Business Data diagram is added to Cameo Business Modeler 17.0.2. This diagram serves as a business dictionary. The business dictionary allows identifying what business class is defined in a particular business domain and reusing these classes as data objects in BPMN diagrams.

The Business Data diagram is based on a simplified UML Class diagram. It includes only model elements that are needed for business data definitions.

1.2. Organization Structure Diagram

In Cameo Business Modeler Plugin version 17.0.2, the hierarchical or reporting structure of an organization can be defined in the Organization Structure diagram. The organizational units can be assigned to BPMN activities by using the BPMN Resources Usage Matrix:

1.3. XPDL Import

XML Process Definition Language (XPDL) is a serialization format for BPMN. XPDL provides a file format that supports all BPMN process definition description properties. It defines descriptions of both model element properties and graphical descriptions of a diagram. With XPDL, Cameo Business Modeler can import process definitions from other products.

Cameo Business Modeler supports the imports from XPDL of versions 2.0, 2.1, and 2.2 to BPMN2.

The XPDL Import Wizard is designed for importing XPDL files. To import XPDL files to your project, on the main menu, click File > Import From > XPDL File.

1.4. BPMN2 XML Export

In Cameo Business Modeler Plugin version 17.0.2, you can export BPMN projects as BPMN2 XML files. The BPMN2 XML is a format for interchanging BPMN2 models between tools in order to perform any further model simulation, execution, or deployment.

Note: Exporting BPMN Conversations and Choreographies as BPMN2 XML is not supported.

2. Enhancements

2.1. Diagram Toolbars Usability

The button names are updated on BPMN diagram pallets. This enhancement allows users to identify diagram elements in the more intuitive way.

2.2. XPDL Export

Exporting BPMN models in XPDL 2.2 has been enhanced to ensure the better standard supports as follows:

  • All the properties of BPMN elements can be exported now.
  • XPDL-specific properties can be defined in a model and exported as XPDL.
